Mini brief 3 – identity

Step one

As a group we got given the inital task of devising a name for our ‘learning team’. After discussing about our individual passions and things that qe have in common, we decided to use the name ‘The Innovators’ as our team name.

This team name was judged suitable for us as a team as it really fit our personalities and a passion that we all have in common, innovation.

Step two

The next step was to individually communicate the identity of our team using letters found in things around us in a photomontage style. I decided to draw more upon the idea of innovation and find letter from companies that are known for their innovation. These companies include Tesla, Pepsi, Nike, Odeon, Coca Cola, Spotify and some more. These are companies that I used are all examples of companies that personally inspire me, because of their innovating ideas and clever marketing and the general authenticity of their company. We all individually created our own designs for this task and came together as a group to share our work with each other and to help us draw from each others work. Below shows my initial photomontage that I presented to my group.

Team Feedback

When I presented this to my learning team they were all very pleased with the photomontage that I had produced. I only received one piece of constructive criticism from a member of my learning team which was that my photomontage was clashing with the red of the Tesla logo and the Netflix ‘N’ underneath it and the Nandos ‘N’ beside it. They further evaluated that it didn’t look very appealing to the eye which led to distracting from communicating the full identity of ‘the innovators’ itself and instead focused on the clashing colours.

I took on this constructive criticism and was able to quickly fix it. I chose to instead of using the ‘N’ from the Netflix logo I would use the ‘N’ from the Nike logo. I incorporated this into my photomontage and the image below shows the final photomontage that I presented to my learning team to see if it was satisfactory for communicating the identity of our team.

When I presented this to my learning team they all seemed very pleased with it and said that the colour clashing was no longer a problem. They said that the identity of our team name had been clearly communicated and they also said that its very eye catching and seems very creatively inspired. I was happy with this feedback as I had successfully communicated the identity of our team name through my own creative inspiration which was also displayed through my work.

Final Step

The next step for this team task was to discuss and develop and final concept idea based on inspiration of each others idea.
